Rishi Adhikari, born and raised in Dhading, started his career in tourism at the young age of 15. The mountains were his school and the guide who led his way while he worked as a porter where his teacher. Leaving the warmth of his village life and travelling to Kathmandu, learning English all by himself, and building a career in tourism was not an easy job, but Rishi did it anyway because he was driven by the magic of the mountains.
Very soon Rishi started to lead a team himself, taking them all around Nepal and conquering the most difficult hiking routes in the nation. It’s already been 15 years since Rishi started leading the Mountain groups and today he is the senior guide at Himalayan Masters. Rishi has been to all famous trekking routes of Nepal as Manaslu, Everest, Langtang, Annapurna, Mardi, Upper Mustang Kanchenjunga, and more. Not just Nepal, Rishi had the opportunity to lead travel tours to India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, and more.
Despite multiple surgeries and difficult health conditions, Rishi finds that hiking into the mountains makes him alive. For Rishi, this is not just a job, but a way of life, and a way of happiness. Even after 15 years of profile as guide in Nepal, Rishi says he Is still learning, still exploring, and still enjoying.
