Surje Lama
Senior Trekking Leader
“For me, trekking is about more than reaching the top; it’s about connecting with nature and the people I meet along the way.”
Surje Lama was born and raised in Gagajamuna-2, Dhading, where he developed a deep love for the mountains from an early age. After completing his bachelor’s degree, he began his career as a trekking porter. During his five years as a porter, he learned valuable skills and the hard work needed for trekking.
After gaining experience, Surje went to India to pursue his master’s degree. He returned to Nepal and proudly took on the role of a college dean, where he enjoyed teaching and guiding students. However, the call of the mountains was too strong to resist, and he knew he had to follow his passion.
For the past two years, Surje has been working with Himalayan Masters, fully dedicating himself to the Himalayas. He is skilled in trekking, peak climbing, and rock climbing. Surje loves to guide others through the beautiful landscapes of the Himalayas, sharing his knowledge and experiences along the way.
For Surje, trekking is not just about reaching the summit; it’s also about the personal growth and connections he makes with nature and the people he meets. He is eager to help others experience the wonder of the mountains and the joy of adventure.
