The cheapest way is to use a local bus to travel to Nagarkot from Kathmandu.
The bus fare for Nagarkot is around NPR 100. To catch a bus to Nagarkot, first, you need to visit the Bhaktapur bus stop in Kathmandu, just east of Ratnapark, and then take a bus to Kamalbinayak. Nearly 50 minutes of travel along the Mahendra highway takes you to Kamalbinayak in Bhaktapur, where you take another bus to Nagarkot.

There are no tourist buses from airport to Kathmandu. Local buses to nagarkot can be found at Buspark in Ratnapark or Kamalbinayak in Bhaktapur. However, we do recommend taxi because number of buses are very less.
