What’s New in Manaslu Circuit Trekking in 2025?

What’s New in Manaslu Circuit Trekking in 2025?

The Manaslu Circuit trekking, one of Nepal’s most exciting and scenic treks, is still growing in various ways. Trekkers on this adventure in 2025 will find several interesting changes.

More Trekkers in Manaslu Region

The number of trekkers in Manaslu Circuit Trek has increased significantly compared to the last few decades. The trend is increasing; people want to explore Nepal’s remote and virgin paths rather than the crowded ones.

Permit Addition

A new Chum Nubri Rural Municipality permit has been implemented for the Manaslu Circuit Trekking. The local tourists have to pay Rs.200, and foreigners have to pay Rs.1000 for the Chum Nubri Rural Municipality permit.

Changes in Drive Route

A major change in 2025 is the transportation route. Previously, trekkers started their journey from Soti Khola. However, due to a recent infrastructure upgrade, Machha Khola has now become the new origin.

This adaptation shortens the trip’s initial stage, resulting in greater comfort and saving time for travellers.

Road Construction Updates

Extensive Road construction is ongoing, particularly from Jagat onward. This development has improved access but, simultaneously, has evoked mixed feelings.

Although trekkers’ travelling is made more convenient, those wanting a fully isolated experience may have to change their assumptions.

Despite the present roads, the remote features of the Manaslu area remain untouched outside of the main access points.

Accommodation and Tea Houses

The tea house facilities along the Manaslu Circuit Trekking have been updated for 2025. Most lodges provide upgraded facilities, such as further variety in the food and more comfortable lodgings.

In areas like Samagaon and Shyala, 4-5 teahouses have been added to provide better accommodation for many people. In Samdo, 2 new teahouses have been added.

Moreover, the supply of electricity has been more and more reliable, thus making it easy to plug in the device at any time during most of the route.

Electricity Access and Connectivity

One of the important stepping stones has been the installation of a Nepal Telecom 4G antenna in Samdo. Trekkers now enjoy the benefits of stable mobile network coverage and can operate safely and communicate effectively.

The local people of Samdo have made a small hydropower for electricity purposes. This development will offer better access to first aid services and communication with family members and friends while hiking.

However, one needs to know that if there is heavy rainfall or snowfall on the Manaslu routes, then electricity services will be obstructed.

Security Improvements

The trail’s lodgment, Samdo, is one of the main installations for the Armed Police Force’s border security. This extra security personnel provides peace of mind to trekkers, more so in view of its location along the Nepal-China border.

Cultural Additions

Samagaon has a newly built monastery that enriches the local cultural activities in the area. While there are many cultural monasteries and stupas on the trek, this new monastery addition will make a difference culturally and spiritually.

Manaslu Trek Cost Changes

There are some changes in Manaslu Circuit Trek’s cost because of the newly established infrastructural facilities and upgraded infrastructure; the cost has increased for Manaslu Circuit Trek.

However, the enhanced convenience and the better trekking experience are all worth the cost. Permit fees and guide charges remain major expenses of the hike.

Weather and Temperature

The trekkers in Manaslu Circuit Trekking have faced a lot of changes in the weather and temperature. The temperature is higher and warmer in the first two days of the trek route. The temperatures after these two days are normal but still warmer.
