What can you expect in the Everest Trek 2024?

The Everest Trek in 2024 is an extraordinary adventure in the peaks and breathtaking scenery of the Himalayas. The season of 2024 has brought many tourists and trekkers to the Everest Base Camp expedition. According to the officials, around 40,000 people trek to the Everest Base Camp every year. We hope that the number of trekkers will increase in 2024. Every trekker visit with some expectation.

Let’s explain your expectations regarding food, accommodation, attractions, and services.

Food:

During your Everest Trek, you can access various food options, from traditional Nepali dishes to international cuisines. Teahouses and lodges on the trekking route offer hearty meals such as dal bhat (rice with lentil soup), momo (dumplings), noodles, pasta, sandwiches, and soups. These meals provide the necessary energy for your trekking activities.

Accommodation:

Accommodation along the Everest Trek mainly consists of teahouses and lodges operated by local communities. These establishments offer cozy rooms with basic amenities like beds, blankets, and shared bathrooms. While the services may be simple, they provide a comfortable resting place after a day of trekking. Carrying a sleeping bag for added warmth is advisable, especially during colder months. Himalayan Masters will provide a sleeping bag as a complimentary for you.

Attractions:

The Everest region is renowned for its spectacular natural beauty and iconic landmarks. You’ll find stunning views of snow-capped peaks, lush forests, picturesque villages, and glacial lakes along the trek. Highlights of the trek include panoramic views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and other towering mountains. You’ll also be able to visit Buddhist monasteries, such as Tengboche Monastery, and immerse yourself in the local culture.

Seasonal Considerations:

In 2024, the trekking season in the Everest region typically spans from March to May and from September to November. The weather is moderately stable during these months, with clear skies and comfortable temperatures. Spring (March to May) offers blooming rhododendrons and vibrant landscapes, while autumn (September to November) provides cool air and amazing mountain views. It’s important to check weather forecasts and trail conditions before starting your trek.

Charging and Electricity:

While trekking in the Everest region, access to electricity and charging facilities may vary depending on the location. Many teahouses and lodges have limited charging outlets powered by solar panels or generators. It’s better to bring a portable power bank or a solar charger to keep your devices charged throughout the trek. The teahouses might charge a fee for charging and heating services.

During your Everest Base Camp Trek 2024, you can access essential services to support your journey. Local guides and porters are available to assist with navigation and carry your belongings. They also provide insights into the region’s culture and customs. Itinerary of Mount Everest Base Camp Trek

With Himalayan Masters, you will have no stress about booking flights and lodges for the Base Camp Everest Expeditions. The following is the itinerary for the 12-day Everest Base Camp Trek tour.

Day 1: Fly to Luka and trek to Monjo

You will have two options for flying to Lukla. One first option is flying directly from Kathmandu to Lukla. The next option is flying from Ramechhap to Lukla. This way, you will have alternatives that meet your needs. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla will take around 35 min. But the flight from Ramechhap to Lukla will just take 20 min.

So, depending on your time preference, you can decide to fly to Lukla.

Day 2: Trek from Monjo to Namche

Before you start the trek from Monjo, you must obtain your Sagarmatha National Park permits. After having breakfast, you will begin your trek from Monjo to Namche. However, the trek officially begins from Phakding. You will trek to Namche Bazar, which is at an altitude of 3440 meters. Namche Bazar is one of the most beautiful villages on Everest. Only Namche Bazar is the place on the Everest Base Camp trek that has ATMs.

Day 3: Acclimatization at Namche Bazar

On this day, you will be acclimatized to Namche Bazar. As Tengboche is the next day trek on the Everest Base Camp Trek Tour, you will need to let your body rest properly. Acclimatizing properly is necessary to trek for the high altitude next day. You can visit Sagarmatha National Park Museum and Hotel Everest View during your rest day.

Day 4: Trek from Namche to Tengboche

After a heavy breakfast, you will begin your trek towards Tengboche. Tengboche is known for its beautiful monastery, Tengboche Monastery. After reaching our destination, you will also visit the stupa and monastery.

Day 5: Tengboche to Dingboche

After breakfast, you will begin to trek along the Imja Khola. You can have a spectacular view of Mount Ama Dablam. Dingboche has the largest high-altitude settlements in the Everest Base Camp trek 2024.

Day 6: Acclimatization day at Dingboche

During your acclimatization day at Dingboche, you can either rest or sleep all day or trek to the base of Nangkar Tshang Peak. The Himalayan Masters guide will help you explore the areas near the Dingboche.

Day 7: Dingboche to Lobuche

After your breakfast, you will begin your scenic journey towards Dughla. It is a place that is filled with snow peaks, glaciers, rivers, and a forest full of rhododendrons and other wildflowers. After Dughla, you will have a gradual ascent until you reach Lobuche. The altitude of Lobuche is 4940 meters. So, you will gain altitude faster.

There is a high chance of altitude sickness, so be prepared well for the Everest Base Camp Trek 2024. After passing to the Thokla pass, the walk will be easier than before.

Day 8: Trek from Lobuche- Gorakshep- Everest Base Camp

After staying for a night in Lobuche, you will begin your journey towards the most awaited destination, i.e., The Everest base camp. The trekking distance from Lobuche to Gorakshep is just 5 km. After having your lunch at Gorakshep, you will begin the hike base camp Mt Everest. Trekking from Gorakshep to the Everest Base Camp will take around 7 hours.

We usually plan to return to Gorakshep after trekking to the Everest Base Camp because staying there can be cold. The height of the Everest Base Camp is 5363 meters.

If you want to return to Kathmandu by helicopter from Gorakshep, Himalayan Masters will also organize it. We would appreciate prior information for such activities.

Day 9: Trek from EBC to Kalapathhar and then to Pangboche

Day 9 will be challenging as you need to cover around 22 km in a single day. Kalapathar is an amazing viewpoint that is a view of the enormous Mount Everest. Kalapathhar is the highest point on the trek and will provide a 360-degree Everest view from Kalapathhar.

If you want, you can also extend your Everest Base Camp trek 2024 by adding the Gokyo Lake Trail. After spending quality time at the Kalapathhar viewpoint, you will have to rush for the overnight stay at Pangboche. On day 9, you will find many stops along the day, but if you take time to rest at every station, then it might be difficult for you to reach Pangboche.

Day 10: Pangboche to Namche

There are two routes from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar: one through Tengboche and the other via Phortse, which is more challenging but offers scenic views. We recommend the Phortse route for its panoramic mountain views. After Phortse, there are many ascents and descents, so a walking stick is advisable. The distance to Namche is nearly 19 km via Phortse, and upon reaching Namche after eight days, you might feel like you’re arriving home, as it is a more advanced town compared to other villages.

Day 11: Trek from Namche to Lukla

Today’s walking distance will be around 20 km, so please prepare yourself for the trek. You will need to walk for 6 hours on this day. You will pass through many suspension bridges and beautiful rivers. After reaching Lukla, our team will give you a farewell party and serve you “Chhyang,” a local Nepali homemade beer.

Day 12: Fly back from Luka to Kathmandu

This is the last day of your Everest base camp trek 2024. You will have a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Amazing landscapes of the Everest range can be seen from the flight. Then, after arriving at the airport, Himalayan masters will find you the perfect hotel for you to stay in. You can explore Kathmandu more if you extend your trip.
