Everest Base Camp Heli Trek is the best alternative trekking option for the weeks-long Everest Base Camp Trek. The trip mainly begins with the short domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, popularly known as Tenzing-Hilari Airport at an elevation of 2860 meters.

In case the flight from Kathmandu is not possible, you have to catch the Manthali-Lukla flight. For that, you need to drive 4 to 6 hours from Kathamandu to Manthali. It is only about 20 minutes flight from Manthali.  After landing at Lukla airport, you require to trek 3 to 4 hours to Phakding at an elevation of 2610 meters. The next day, you will trek to Namche Bazaar, a small but vibrant town also known as the Sherpa Capital at an elevation of 3441 meters.

ITINERAY

Day 01: Welcome To Kathmandu(1400 m)

Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), the representative of Himalayan-Masters will receive you and take you to one of the luxurious hotels in a private car. Probably in the late afternoon, there will be a pre-trip meeting at the hotel or in our office in order to finalize our trip plan.

There will also be an introduction with the guide. Many of your queries regarding the trip will be answered by the guide and other experts. Do remember to carry your passport, three copies of passport size photos, and a copy of your travel insurance policy before attending the meeting.

Day 02: Explore Kathmandu

Kathmandu, a beautiful city is the first step for any foreign traveler. Before you cherish the Himalayan experience, you can spend a day or more in Kathmandu to explore the cultural-historical and religious facts of Nepal. Kathmandu valley is home to 7 World Heritage sites that are filled with ancient architectural buildings, palaces, and monuments.

The Durbar Squares in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan reveal the massive display of ancient and medieval arts. The largest stupa in the world, the Boudanath Stupa, Swyanbhunath, Pasupatinath, etc are the major attractions of the Kathmandu valley. Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2804 m) – Trek to Phakding (2610 m)

After having breakfast, a private car receives you from the hotel and takes you to the airport for the Kathmandu-Lukla flight. The flight is about 35 minutes long. This is an amazing as well as a thrilling flight over Nepal’suneven topography.

Note: In case Kathmandu-Lukla (or vice versa) flight is not possible; there is another alternative to reach Lukla. You need to drive 5 to 7 hours to Manthali in Ramechhap district from where you need to take 20 minutes flight for Lukla.

Upon landing at Lukla airport, the guide will ask you to be prepared for a 3 to 4 hours trek to Phakding at an elevation of 2610 meters.

Day 04: Trek to Namche (3440 m)

After having a yummy breakfast at Phakding, you will start trekking to Namche Bazaar, a popular trekking hub of the Everest region. Namche Bazaar is probably the first station of your trip from where you can view Mt. Everest. You will enjoy other magnificent views of the mountains like Thamserku, Kongdi Ri, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and many more.

Day 05: Acclimatization (Trek around Namche)

Although it is the rest day at Namche, it is best to explore the town hiking around for at least 2 to 3 hours. The town is filled with beautiful places with spectacular mountain views.

The best option is to trek to Everest View Hotel at an elevation of 3880 meters. It is the amazing Five Star Hotel offering mesmerizing views of the tallest mountains. It is the most elevated hotel in the world. Besides, you can also visit the museum exploring lots of Sherpa cultures and traditions.

Day 06: Acclimatization (Trek to Thame)

The small village of Thame is the right destination for the second acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar. This beautiful Sherpa village is also the ancient salt trading route between Tibet, Nepal, and India. Thame is also the childhood home of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, one of the first men to climb Mount Everest.

Day 07: Fly over Mt. Everest, Kalapatthar – Land at Lukla – Fly back to Kathmandu

The seventh day of your trip is the most important day. You will be picked up by a helicopter at Namche and fly over Khumbu valley offering you picturesque views of the mountains including Mt. Everest. The helicopter lands at Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar for a few minutes providing you the opportunity to enjoy the great views.

Finally, you will be landed at Lukla airport from where either the same or the other helicopter will take you to Kathmandu. Depending on the arrival time at Kathmandu airport, spend a few hours strolling around Thamel street finding the last pieces of souvenirs for your friends and relatives.

Attend a farewell dinner party organized by Himalayan-Masters in the evening. After finishing this package trip, you can further extend your Nepal stay and ask Himalayan- Masters to find other tour packages

Day 08: Depart Nepal (Time To Say Goodbye)

It is the final day of your trip and the day to leave Nepal. Manage all your things in the hotel and check out in time for catching the plane. It is the best idea to reach the airport at least three hours prior to the scheduled flight time. The representative of Himalayan-Masters will come to the airport to say goodbye.
