Everest Heli Trek

Everest Base Camp Heli Trek is the best alternative trekking option for the weeks-long Everest Base Camp Trek. It offers the combined experience of trekking and helicopter rides over the world’s tallest mountains. This Heli trek is the best for travellers with a tight time schedule wishing to view Everest closely along with exploring Sherpa cultures. The trip mainly begins with the short domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, popularly known as Tenzing-Hilari Airport, at an elevation of 2860 meters.

If the flight from Kathmandu is not possible, you have to catch the Manthali-Lukla flight. For that, you need to drive 4 to 6 hours from Kathamandu to Manthali. It is only about 20 minutes flight from Manthali.  After landing at Lukla airport, you are required to trek for 3 to 4 hours to Phakding at an elevation of 2610 meters. The next day, you will trek to Namche Bazaar, a small but vibrant town also known as the Sherpa Capital at an elevation of 3441 meters.

Why Choose Everest Heli Trek?

The trekking trail snakes through hills, valleys, forests, and long suspension bridges. You will be amazed by lovely and invigorating scenes through the ethnic town of Khumbu Valley. The glimpse of wildlife and birds in the forested area, panoramic landscapes, and the breathtaking views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Makalu, Pumori, etc., will make you feel that you are in heaven.

Namche is the focal point of this trip and the whole trek in the Everest region. Spending a few acclimatization days at Namche is a great experience to explore a number of towering mountains and Sherpa cultures. Trekking around Namche Bazaar, exploring the Sherpa Cultural Museum, and hiking up to Syangboche Airstrip will be a great experience for you. The magnificent views of Kongde, Thamserku, Lhotse, Everest, and Ama Dablam from Syangboche are mesmerizing.

One of the most impressive attractions of Namche is Everest View Hotel, the most elevated hotel in the world offering you 360-degree views of astonishing mountain peaks, including Mt. Everest. It is an amazing hotel built in 1971 managed in such a way that the Everest view can clearly be seen from every room.

The second acclimatization day at Namche is best spent hiking to a small traditional village known as Thame, the childhood home of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. Tenzing is one of the first climbers of Mt. Everest. This village is also the ancient salt trading route between Tibet, Nepal, and India. The Helicopter flight from Namche flies over the awesome Khumbu Valley, Everest Base Camp, Khumbu Glacier, and Kala Patthar.

With this Mt. Everest helicopter tour, you can experience the remoteness of Nepal, the thrill of trekking, and the adventure of flying over Everest, all in less than one week. What else do you seek for?
